About the Role

Base Consulting Group is seeking an entry-level GIS Analyst to support the delivery of ecological and environmental projects. Based in Brisbane, you will work within a collaborative team to produce high-quality spatial data, mapping outputs, and analysis that support project delivery and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain GIS datasets for environmental and ecology projects

• Prepare maps, spatial layouts, and figures for technical reports and client deliverables

• Support constraints mapping and spatial analysis activities

• Assist with integration of ecological field data into GIS workflows

• Use QGIS and CAD software to develop accurate spatial outputs

• Maintain templates, standards, and data quality processes

• Support project delivery, reporting, and documentation

• Work collaboratively within a team to achieve project outcomes

About You

• Degree in GIS, Spatial Science, Environmental Science, Ecology, or similar

• 0–2 years' relevant experience (graduates encouraged to apply)

• Some practical use of QGIS and/or ArcGIS

• Exposure to CAD software is desirable

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn

Desirable

• Experience with environmental or ecological datasets

• Knowledge of spatial analysis, constraints mapping, or overlays

• Basic Python, SQL, or automation skills
