We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Environment Officer to join our Planning & Infrastructure team at Launceston Airport.

Working alongside our Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you will provide on-site environmental support across airport operations and capital projects, helping to ensure environmental compliance while contributing to sustainability initiatives that support the future growth of the airport.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting environmental monitoring, site inspections and compliance activities across airport operations and projects
• Supporting contaminated land, groundwater and surface water management, while providing environmental advice to contractors and stakeholders
• Assisting with ESG data management and implementation of sustainability initiatives and environmental strategies

The successful candidate will have:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline, with 1–3 years' experience in an environmental, sustainability or compliance-focused role
• Mandatory experience in contaminated land investigations, groundwater or surface water management within construction, infrastructure, utilities, consulting or similar environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence positive environmental outcomes
