This highly successful building materials manufacturer requires a Laboratory Technical Officer, based full-time in Brisbane.

The Role :

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, working with a collaborative close-knit team of 5, the role responsibilities include: 

• Routine testing, sample preparation, breaks, concrete cylinders, mortar prisms and chemical testing.

• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment

• Recording and verifying results within set parameters

• Undertaking non-routine testing as required, applying testing methods in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and NATA testing requirements.

• Entering of analytical results into a laboratory data management system

• Review laboratory quality systems, conduct internal audits, and contribute to the implementation of amendments.

• Safety focused and adhering to other policies and/or requirements

• Contributing to the overall efficiency and operational improvement of the Laboratory.

Skills and Competencies:

•  knowledge of NATA requirements.

• High level of understanding of laboratory practices and testing principles

• Experience working with concrete or soil products.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Qualifications in laboratory operations are highly regarded. (but not essential)
