Private Developer – Project Manager

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for a privately owned and institutionally backed property development platform delivering a pipeline in excess of $1 billion across Australia’s living sectors, including Co-Living, Build-to-Rent (BTR) and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA).

With multiple projects currently in planning, design and construction across New South Wales and Queensland, the business is seeking a Project Manager to join its growing development and delivery team located in Melbourne.

This is a rare opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and highly active developer at a formative stage of growth, working directly with senior leadership on landmark projects that will shape the future of the living sector in Australia.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, procurement and delivery of major residential development projects from design through to construction and operational handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing consultants across design, planning, authority approvals and delivery phases.

• Coordinating contractors, suppliers and specialist advisors.

• Monitoring programme, budget, risk and project performance.

• Supporting procurement, tendering and contract administration processes.

• Driving project outcomes through design development, value engineering and delivery.

• Preparing project reporting and governance documentation.

• Managing stakeholder relationships across consultants, contractors, authorities and capital partners.

• Assisting with project handover and operational readiness.

About You

You will likely have:

• 5+ years’ experience in project management, development management or construction delivery.

• Experience gained within a property developer, project management consultancy, construction consultancy or contractor environment.

• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale residential, mixed-use, BTR, PBSA, hotel or commercial developments.

• Strong commercial, contractual and stakeholder management skills.

• The ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.

• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Property, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
