• Alpha Finance is a fast-growing automotive finance group — car loans, vehicle subscription (Carzie), leasing and fleet.

• We’re building intelligent, compliant automation as a core part of how we scale. This is a ground-floor build, not maintenance of legacy systems.

The role

• Newly created. You’ll design and ship the automation foundation that runs assessment, onboarding and client-comms workflows.

• Work directly with our Automation Lead and report to the General Manager.

• Best suited to an engineer who solves business problems, not just writes code.

• Map business processes and build production automation across our CRM / API layer.

• Design and run programmatic SMS / email systems — inbox monitoring, response parsing, delivery tracking.

• Integrate third-party APIs and platforms into clean, unified workflows.

• Build compliant, auditable solutions aligned to Australian consumer-finance and data-privacy obligations.

• Stand up logging, monitoring and performance reporting; keep clear architecture documentation.

• 6+ years professional software engineering.

• Strong Node + TypeScript; production API integration at scale.

• Agentic / workflow automation: n8n (or similar) + hands-on with Claude Code / Codex / Cursor, MCPs, skills.

• SQL / Postgres design and management.

• Proven automated communication systems (SMS + email).

• Translating business requirements into technical specs; strong systems-thinking; clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.

• React / Next.js; Python.

• Australian automotive finance or consumer-lending exposure.

• DevOps fundamentals — deployment pipelines, Sentry / monitoring, alerting.

• Security best-practice and Git / GitHub fluency.
