About this role

14,000+ Australian mortgage brokers rely on Quickli's platform every day. We're hiring a senior SaaS Product Engineer to build and ship across that platform, including the AI features redefining how brokers work.

We're not looking for an engineer who only thinks about code, or a product person who can't build. You're a software engineer with a product brain: you architect and ship robust, full-stack product, own the technical and product calls, challenge assumptions, and care how it impacts customers.

Working directly with the founders and our design lead, you'll use AI to build fast, while holding a high bar on the code itself. No bureaucracy, no layers between you and the people who say yes - just fast decisions and your work helping real users.

What you'll do

You'll make a difference in two big ways:

1. Develop software our users love. Take high-level vision and direction from founders, challenge the assumptions and requirements so what we ship delivers real value.

2. Own the outcome. Once something is live, you don't stop there. You own a product, not a backlog of tickets, and you keep making enhancements until it's genuinely loved by users.

Day to day, you'll:

• Architect, build, and ship full-stack features end to end (React/Tailwind on the front end, Node behind it), with Claude Code

• Build AI-powered features into the product, from rough prototype to production in front of real users

• Keep a high engineering bar while moving fast: clean, reliable code that stays easy for both humans and AI to work in

• Share prototypes early and rough, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with our design lead, so we iterate fast and keep quality high

• Stay close to what users are experiencing right now - the job isn't done when the solution ships

The details

• Hybrid, full time with a minimum of three days a week in our Sydney office (Sydney).

• $140,000 to $180,000 + super, depending on experience. Senior level.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and shipping full-stack SaaS products - you architect and own features end to end, not just assemble UI

• Hands-on with AI coding tools (Claude Code) and fluent at orchestrating them to ship fast, while reviewing output critically and catching what AI gets wrong

• Good judgement about where AI genuinely adds value for users, and excitement about building AI into the product

• Strong product and design sense - you care about the user experience and can articulate why something works (or doesn't)

• High standards and initiative - you find a way through rather than getting blocked, and follow up relentlessly to get things done

Nice to haves (not essential)

• Production experience with LLM features (prompt engineering, RAG, agents, or evals)

• Startup or scaleup experience working closely with founders or senior leadership

• B2B or SaaS product development background

You don't need industry experience in mortgage or finance. We care about how you work, not where you've worked.
