The Test Team Lead will manage a team of Test Analysts and ensure high-quality testing outcomes. This fast-paced role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, broad IT knowledge, strong leadership, and expertise in both manual and automation testing methodologies. This role will be full-time, onsite, based at our customer’s premises, a Federal Government department.

What’s The Role?

• Lead and mentor Test Analysts, promoting continuous improvement and high performance.

• Manage end-to-end testing across updates, enhancements, and release cycles on Windows and Solaris platforms.

• Work within multiple development teams to understand the scope of product releases and develop acceptance criteria based on business objectives, functional requirements and service level requirements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and SME’s to build and maintain a test script library and execute the testing plan to meet overall program deadlines.

• Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, test cases test reports and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.

• Undertake QA activities and review documentation a part of an approval workflow before finalisation.

• Support defect triage, reporting, tracking, and resolution.

• Provide technical guidance and support team development.

• Work with the SDM, developers, and stakeholders to prioritise testing and resolve issues.

• Design and implement manual and automated test strategies.

• Drive the adoption of automation frameworks and tools to optimise testing efficiency and effectiveness.

• Manage the test team to undertake thorough regression testing when necessary to validate software quality and stability.

• Hands-on involvement in testing activities, including complex scenarios and troubleshooting.

• Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to QA and testing.

• Evaluate and recommend testing tools and frameworks that align with project requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement across processes and documentation.

What’s Your Edge?

• NV2 Security Clearance required.

• 5+ years’ dedicated testing experience, with a focus on manual and automated testing in software applications.

• 2+ years’ testing leadership experience (e.g., Test Lead / Manager).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE.

• Knowledge of testing in a Windows, Solaris and Oracle environment.

• Experience with windows command line interface and command interpreter or PowerShell scripting as well as Graphical User Interface.

• Experience with Solaris command line interface and bash scripting.

• Experience with Oracle SQL and creating SQL statements.

• Experience in working with the testing tools such as HP ALM and JIRA.

• Experience in working with software applications such as TOAD, FireZilla and Putty.

• Automated testing skills and experience with scripting languages and XML.
