Senior Network Automation Engineer (Contract – 6 Months)

Location: Sydney, NSW (Hybrid)
Contract: 6 months initial term with strong potential for extension

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Automation Engineer to join a dynamic and growing technology team based in Sydney. This is an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about network automation, modern infrastructure, and continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in designing, automating, and optimizing network environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network automation solutions
• Enhance and maintain firewall infrastructure and security posture
• Develop and optimize scripts and automation workflows using Python
• Support network operations across switching and routing environments
• Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network deployments
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to streamline processes
• Troubleshoot network and automation issues effectively

Key Requirements

• Strong experience with firewalls (design, configuration, and management)
• Solid knowledge of switching and routing principles
•  Advanced proficiency in Python scripting for automation
• Experience with SQL for data handling and analysis
• Understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

• Exposure to PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
