We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Technology to join our growing Canberra team.

This is a leadership role for someone who has built their career from a strong technical foundation and progressed into consulting, solution leadership, and team management. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, guide technical direction across client engagements, and partner closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital outcomes.

About the Role

You will provide technical leadership across a portfolio of client engagements, working closely with designers, developers, architects and business stakeholders to shape, deliver and continually improve digital solutions.

Leading a team of approximately 12 technology professionals, you will mentor and develop capability, establish technical standards, and ensure successful delivery across multiple concurrent projects and programs.

You will play a key role in client discovery, solution design, governance, technical reviews and stakeholder engagement, helping clients navigate complex technology challenges while maintaining a strong focus on delivery outcomes.

What You'll Bring

• Strong background in software engineering, application development, architecture, or technical delivery
• Experience working within a consulting, professional services, or digital agency environment
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing technical teams
• Proven ability to lead complex programs and projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Strong consulting skills, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, governance and client engagement
• Experience working with Federal Government clients and environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
• A collaborative mindset and genuine passion for mentoring and growing people

Technical Experience

We are interested in candidates with experience across modern digital platforms and technologies, including areas such as:

• Web and application development
• Solution architecture and technical design
• Cloud-based architectures and API integrations
• Agile delivery methodologies
• User-centred digital delivery
• Enterprise platforms such as Drupal, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar digital experience and business application platforms

• Current Federal Government Baseline Security Clearance (minimum)
• Australian Citizenship
• Canberra-based or willing to relocate to Canberra
