About us
At CareSuper, we believe we're Super Together. As a profit-to-member super fund with over 600,000 members and $60 billion in assets, we're passionate about helping our members retire with confidence. We're growing fast and looking for our next superhero to join us on this exciting journey.

About the role
As our new Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Specialist, you'll be part of our Technology Data, Integration and Innovation team. You'll operationalise machine learning at scale on Azure Databricks, ensuring models are reliable, secure, compliant, and continuously delivering value.

What you will do:
  • Build and manage MLOps pipelines across data prep, training, validation, packaging, and deployment using Azure Databricks, MLflow, and orchestration tools.
  • Implement CI/CD for ML (Azure DevOps/GitHub) with automated testing, environment promotion gates, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Govern models via MLflow Registry (versioning, approvals, rollback) and Unity Catalog for lineage and access control.
  • Deploy models as batch, streaming, or real-time endpoints with robust monitoring (Databricks, AKS, Azure ML).
  • Establish end-to-end monitoring (data quality, drift, performance, latency, cost) with alerts and dashboards.
  • Design and operate feature stores for reuse, consistency, and low-latency access.
  • Ensure compliance and risk controls aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Optimise platform performance and cost (clusters, autoscaling, runtimes, Delta Lake, scheduling).
  • Enable teams with templates, reference architectures, and best practices; mentor on production standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align SLAs, releases, and support processes.
What we're looking for
We're looking for passionate individuals who embody our values and thrive on building scalable, production-grade ML solutions. This role is ideal for someone driven to deliver robust, well-governed, and efficient MLOps practices that enable smarter decision-making.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:
  • Experience operationalising ML on Azure Databricks (Jobs, Repos, MLflow, Delta Lake) and broader Azure services (KeyVault, Storage, Event Hub/Service Bus, Azure Monitor).
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data/ML engineering; familiarity with Spark (PySpark) and distributed data processing.
  • Demonstrated CI/CD expertise (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), including build/release pipelines, environment promotion, and automated testing for ML.
  • Practical knowledge of model serving patterns (batch, streaming, real-time), ML monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining.
  • Experience with data governance & security
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices (version control with Git, code reviews, packaging, semantic versioning).
  • Strong collaboration, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills; comfort operating in Agile environments.
  • Experience with Databricks Feature Store, Unity Catalog lineage, and Lakehouse architectural patterns.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) for Databricks/Azure resource provisioning and cluster policy enforcement.
  • Exposure to responsible AI practices (explainability, bias testing, privacy preserving techniques) and regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization, orchestration and real-time streaming.
  • Experience integrating observability stacks and application performance monitoring tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., at minimum Databricks ML Associate required).
Why CareSuper?
