Lead a landmark DOM platform selection and implementation program
Senior leadership role reporting into the technology executive team
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest multi-channel retailers, operating a portfolio of well-known consumer brands across both physical and digital channels. With a national footprint spanning hundreds of retail locations, multiple distribution centres, and a growing e-commerce operation, the business serves millions of customers each year.
The organisation is now entering a major capability build phase, investing significantly in its supply chain and fulfilment infrastructure to support a seamless omnichannel experience — and this role sits at the centre of that transformation.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare, genuinely transformational leadership role. The business has made a strategic decision to implement a Unified Distributed Order Management (DOM) platform across its full multi-brand, multi-channel environment — and they need an exceptional leader to drive it.
You will be accountable for the full journey: platform evaluation and selection, vendor engagement, program design, and end-to-end implementation. This is not a steady-state operations role. The business needs someone who has lived through a DOM/OMS transformation before — who understands the complexity, the stakeholder management, and the discipline required to get it done.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and commercial negotiation of a Distributed Order Management platform across a complex multi-brand retail environment
• Define and own the fulfilment strategy, including omnichannel fulfilment logic, ship-from-store, click & collect, and last-mile optimisation
• Design and deliver the end-to-end DOM implementation program, including systems integration across a mixed legacy and modern technology stack
• Build and lead a high-performing team of technology, fulfilment, and transformation specialists
• Partner with senior stakeholders across digital, supply chain, merchandise, and store operations to align on requirements and manage change
• Establish governance, KPIs, and reporting frameworks for ongoing fulfilment performance
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Essential:
• Demonstrated experience leading a full DOM or OMS platform transformation — selection through to go-live — within a complex retail or multi-channel environment
• Deep understanding of distributed order management principles: inventory positioning, order orchestration, fulfilment rule logic, and real-time availability
• Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise DOM/OMS platforms (e.g. IBM Sterling, Manhattan Active Omni, Fluent Commerce, Blue Yonder, Körber)
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs involving technology, supply chain, digital, and store operations teams
• Strong executive presence and the ability to influence and communicate at C-suite level
• Experience in multi-brand or post-acquisition retail environments is highly regarded
Desirable:
• Exposure to systems integrator or consulting environments (e.g. Wipro, TCS, IBM GBS, or boutique retail technology firms)
• Familiarity with Workday or equivalent enterprise platforms in the retail context
• Experience managing vendor relationships and large-scale commercial negotiations
WHY THIS ROLE
• Own something from scratch — this is a genuine build, not a handover
• Work at scale — one of Australia's largest retail environments, with real complexity
• Backed by the executive — this program has visible sponsorship and committed funding
• Be the expert — this is a role where your transformation experience is the credential that matters most
• Competitive remuneration — $230,000 – $280,000
