About the Company
One of Australia’s leading, well-established financial services and specialty insurers is undertaking a major technology modernisation program to support strategic growth and market expansion. Renowned for its collaborative, member-first culture, this organisation offers the perfect balance of a supportive internal environment and the scale of a major enterprise. For a seasoned Technical Project Manager, this is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of a high-visibility transformation project.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a heavyweight Contract Technical Project Manager to take end-to-end delivery ownership of a business-critical Core Enterprise Insurance Platform Upgrade.
The current core policy and claims administration platform is reaching the end of its support lifecycle, making this upgrade the business's top technical priority. Rather than a standard migration, a significant focus of this 12-month program involves identifying and unwinding extensive legacy system customizations to transition the business back to a standard, out-of-the-box model.
What You'll Do
You won't just be checking off timeline milestones from a distance; you will be the central driving force navigating a highly complex, multi-million-dollar technology ecosystem. This role requires you to dive deep into a multi-layered delivery structure, managing intense interdependencies across global software vendors, external Systems Integrators (SIs), and internal cross-functional business units. Because this program involves unwinding extensive, deeply embedded legacy workflows, you will be bridging the gap between deep technical code and real-world business operations, ensuring that a long-tenured workforce is safely and successfully brought along for the ride.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for a highly articulate, authoritative yet empathetic leader who can walk into a room of senior executives or technical engineers and instantly command respect. You don't lead with a heavy hand, but rather through a pragmatic approach, possessing the confidence to handle difficult vendor conversations, and hold delivery partners fiercely accountable, while entirely respecting a collaborative, consensus-led corporate culture. You carry a deep curiosity for how complex systems piece together and the resilience required to untangle decade-old legacy processes without disrupting live production environments.
Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply - we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
