A leading Australian financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its growing Investments team. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future of investment data, analytics, and reporting capabilities within a large-scale investment environment.

Working at the intersection of investments, technology, and data, you'll help drive the development of a modern Investment Data Platform that supports portfolio management, performance analytics, risk reporting, and business intelligence across public and private markets.

The Opportunity As the Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for sourcing, validating, and managing investment data while supporting the ongoing evolution of a sophisticated investment data platform.

You will collaborate with investment teams, data engineers, technology stakeholders, and external partners to ensure trusted, high-quality data is available to support critical investment decision-making and analytical processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and maintain complex investment datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Develop a deep understanding of investment data definitions, lineage, provenance, and quality standards.
• Support the enhancement and optimisation of the Investment Data Platform.
• Design and implement data ingestion and transformation processes to support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Create, validate, and maintain SQL views and analytical datasets for downstream reporting and business intelligence solutions.
• Monitor automated reconciliations and data quality controls, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Partner with investment teams across portfolio management, performance, and risk functions to deliver data-driven insights.
• Contribute to business process improvement initiatives across data and analytics operations.
• Support the adoption of modern AI-enabled analytics capabilities, including natural language querying, semantic models, and self-service reporting tools.

About You

You are a highly analytical and technically capable data professional who thrives in complex investment or financial services environments.

You will bring:

• 5+ years' experience in data analysis, investment data management, or investment analytics.
• Strong SQL development and data modelling skills.
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
• Exposure to business intelligence and analytics tools including Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, and Excel.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across business and technology teams.
• Experience within investment management, superannuation, asset management, wealth management, or broader financial services environments will be highly regarded.
