Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer/Data Modeller to support a complex enterprise data environment and play a critical role in improving the quality, structure and usability of business-critical data assets.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex data problems, investigating undocumented datasets and building trusted reporting foundations within a modern Azure data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Azure-based data pipelines and transformation processes using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL and Data Lake technologies
• Analyse, profile and diagnose complex data quality issues across multiple source systems
• Design and implement dimensional data models including fact and dimension structures, SCD Type 2 methodologies and reporting-ready datasets
• Produce formal technical findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Build scalable data solutions aligned to modern Medallion Architecture principles
• Develop and maintain Python, PySpark and SQL-based transformation logic
• Contribute to Git-based development practices including source control, code reviews and deployment standards

Skills & Experience 

• Proven experience delivering enterprise data engineering solutions within Azure environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Lake Storage
• Advanced SQL development skills, including complex data analysis and reconciliation queries
• Experience developing data pipelines and transformation logic using Python and PySpark
• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern data platform design principles
• Expert knowledge of dimensional modelling, including star schema design, fact and dimension modelling, and SCD Type 2 implementation
• Demonstrated experience profiling, validating and improving data quality across large datasets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex data issues
• Experience using Git-based source control and collaborative development practices

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Azure Data Factory and metadata-driven ELT frameworks
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Dataverse environments
• Understanding of Power BI data models and reporting requirements
• Previous experience working within large and complex enterprise or government environments
