D365 F&O Functional Consultant

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant to play a key role in the ongoing development and optimisation of Armstrong Flooring’s ERP platform.

About Us

Armstrong Flooring is one of Australia’s oldest and leading distributors of hard flooring for both commercial and residential markets.  Operating in Australia since the 1960s, Armstrong Flooring is Australia’s only manufacturer of commercial vinyl flooring at its Braeside manufacturing facility, with a distribution centre in Queensland and national Australian and New Zealand sales teams.

Having recently been purchased by a well-known Australian family, the business is undergoing a digital transformation during a period of rapid growth in the Australian and New Zealand flooring market and requires a function consultant with vision and enthusiasm to partner with users for the smooth and effective implementation of Microsoft Dynamics throughout the entire organisation maximising all processing, automation and reporting improvement opportunities.

The Role

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at Armstrong Flooring’s Braeside facility.

The role is focused on hands‑on functional configuration of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with supporting capability in functional analysis and testing to ensure quality outcomes across both project delivery and BAU enhancements. The emphasis is on configuring, validating, and refining solutions, rather than full business analysis ownership.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the role works closely with business users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and technical team members to ensure D365 F&O is configured correctly, tested effectively, and embedded into day‑to‑day operations. Regular on‑site engagement is required due to the operational and collaborative nature of the manufacturing and distribution environment.

This role will include:

  • Configuring Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to support business processes across manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution

  • Performing hands‑on functional configuration, including entities, forms, fields, workflows, business rules, features, and security roles

  • Working with SMEs and the IT team to understand requirements and translate them into practical functional solutions

  • Contributing to functional design discussions, providing input on solution options aligned to D365 best practices

  • Supporting the identification of configuration gaps and improvement opportunities

  • Creating and executing test scenarios to validate configuration changes prior to release

  • Participating in peer reviews, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Maintaining clear and fit‑for‑purpose functional documentation to support ongoing system use and upgrades

  • Providing functional support, end‑user assistance, and basic training where required

  • Assisting with troubleshooting and resolution of functional issues during and after releases

  • Supporting BAU enhancements and configuration changes to reduce reliance on senior technical resources

About You

You are a practical, hands‑on D365 Finance & Operations Functional Specialist who enjoys configuring solutions, working closely with the business, and contributing to system quality through structured testing and validation.

You will bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience configuring and supporting Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management

  • Practical experience working within manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments

  • Strong hands‑on capability across D365 functional configuration (entities, forms, fields, workflows, business rules, and security roles)

  • Experience supporting functional testing, including test scenario creation, regression testing, and UAT support

  • Enough functional analysis experience to understand requirements and contribute to solution design.

  • A structured, quality‑focused mindset with attention to detail

  • Experience with data migration and system integrations

  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and Azure is desirable

  • Experience in process manufacturing is highly regarded

An excellent remuneration package, commensurate with experience, is on offer.

If this opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, please apply online with a covering letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
