Not specified

We are currently partnering with a large and complex organisation seeking an experienced Workforce Planner to support a major portfolio of transformation work.

This is an initial 6-month contract opportunity within a highly visible delivery environment, focused on improving workforce planning, resource coordination and scheduling across multiple programs and projects. The role will suit someone who enjoys bringing structure, visibility and clarity to complex delivery environments, working closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the right resources are available at the right time.

About the role
As the Workforce Planner, you will be responsible for portfolio-level workforce planning, scheduling and resource coordination across a large program of work.
The key focus of the role is to improve visibility of resource demand, capacity and allocation across the portfolio, helping to identify gaps, conflicts, constraints and opportunities to better align resources to delivery priorities.
You will work closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, Stream Leads and broader business stakeholders to support effective planning, resource allocation forums, reporting and escalation of workforce-related risks and issues.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining a clear and accurate view of workforce capacity, demand, utilisation and allocation across the portfolio;
  • Supporting forward-looking resource planning and forecasting across multiple programs and projects;
  • Coordinating with project and stream leads to understand upcoming resource requirements, constraints and delivery priorities;
  • Identifying resource gaps, conflicts, over-allocation or under-utilisation across the portfolio;
  • Supporting planning forums by providing clear information on workforce capacity, options and recommendations;
  • Escalating resource-related risks and issues where they may impact delivery outcomes;
  • Tracking leave, out-of-hours requirements, dependencies and other workforce considerations that may affect delivery schedules;
  • Supporting improved governance, reporting and decision-making around workforce planning and resource allocation;
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting the negotiation of resources across competing priorities;
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in how resources are planned, allocated and managed across the portfolio.
About you

You will be an experienced Workforce Planner, Resource Coordinator, Project Scheduler or PMO professional with strong experience working across complex project or program delivery environments.

You will be highly organised, analytical and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders to understand competing priorities, clarify requirements and support practical workforce planning outcomes.

You will ideally bring experience across:
  • Workforce planning, resource coordination, project scheduling or portfolio planning;
  • Large-scale transformation programs or complex multi-project delivery environments;
  • Tracking resource demand, capacity, utilisation, dependencies and constraints;
  • Working closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, Stream Leads and senior stakeholders;
  • Supporting planning forums, reporting cycles, governance processes and escalation pathways;
  • Producing clear, accurate and timely reporting to support decision-making;
  • Negotiating resource requirements across competing priorities and stakeholder groups;
  • Working in complex ICT, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or operational environments.
