Platform Engineer (SaaS Operations & Deployment)

About the Role

We're looking for a Platform Engineer who has come from a software engineering background and enjoys solving complex deployment, infrastructure and operational challenges.

Our SaaS streetlight platform is now live in production and continuing to scale, while our LV DERMS and customer cloud environments are growing rapidly. As a result, we're expanding our local platform capability to support production operations, customer deployments and cloud infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who has spent time as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer or Platform Engineer and has gradually moved toward infrastructure, application deployment and operational support. You'll be the person who can quickly diagnose deployment failures, investigate logs and stack traces, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and help ensure our platforms remain reliable and secure.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support and maintain production SaaS environments and customer cloud deployments.

• Investigate and resolve application deployment issues across multiple environments.

• Analyse logs, stack traces and system telemetry to identify root causes of incidents.

• Troubleshoot SSL certificates, connectivity issues and application configuration problems.

• Assist with platform reliability, monitoring and operational improvements.

• Work closely with software engineers to improve deployment processes and operational supportability.

• Support cloud infrastructure, networking, storage and server-related issues.

• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.

• Contribute to deployment automation, operational tooling and platform documentation.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE or similar technical roles.

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

• Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting application deployments.

• Ability to read and interpret logs, stack traces and deployment failure reports.

• Experience diagnosing SSL/TLS certificate and connectivity issues.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure fundamentals, including:

  • Networking

  • Storage

  • Servers and operating systems

  • DNS and connectivity concepts

• Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

• Comfortable working across application, infrastructure and operational domains.

Desirable Skills

• Kubernetes administration experience.

• AWS or other public cloud platform experience.

• SaaS platform operational support experience.

• EC2, storage and server management experience.

• Either utilities, water, gas, energy experience

• CI/CD pipeline and deployment automation experience.

• Infrastructure troubleshooting across cloud environments.

• Monitoring and observability tooling experience.
