About the role

Borger Cranes are building a brand-new, custom enterprise platform from the ground up.

This isn't a 12-month project. It's an ever-evolving build, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with it long-term - through initial delivery, through go-live, and through the years of iteration and expansion that follow as the business doubles in size.

We have a Solution Architect in place driving both architecture and delivery, and we're actively recruiting developers now. You'll be the Senior Business Analyst - the single source of truth between our domain experts and the build team. The team will grow around the work as we go.

What you'll actually do

• Run elicitation with our internal subject matter experts - people who know our operations cold but whose knowledge lives in habits, not documents. Your job is to extract it, structure it, and challenge it where silos contradict each other.

• Translate domain knowledge into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria the dev team can build against.

• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Solution Architect to make sure requirements are technically coherent and operationally sane.

• Run backlog refinement, story slicing, and sprint ceremonies as the embedded BA on an Agile/Scrum team.

• Lead UAT - write test cases, coordinate business testing, manage defects through to resolution.

• Defend the cross-domain view when individual stakeholders push for changes that break the bigger picture.

• Stick with the platform as it evolves - owning the requirements knowledge that compounds in value the longer you're with us.

What we're looking for

Must have:

• 8+ years as a Business Analyst, with at least one full greenfield enterprise build under your belt — start to go-live, blank page to working system.

• Custom build experience. Not just configuring packaged software (Salesforce, SAP, etc.) — you've worked on systems that were genuinely designed and built from scratch.

• Hands-on Agile/Scrum delivery — user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint cadence, working with a Product Owner.

• Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements from busy, opinionated SMEs who don't always agree with each other.

• Hands-on UAT experience - writing test cases, running business testing, managing defects. Not just "coordinating."

• Communicates effectively across all levels of the business - translating fluently between technical teams, operational SMEs, and executive stakeholders.

• Comfortable with full-time onsite work in Glendenning NSW (Western Sydney). This role is in the room with the team, every day. If you're after remote or hybrid, this isn't the role for you.

Nice to have:

• Industry experience in crane hire, heavy lift, or logistics - or adjacent sectors like construction, civil infrastructure, or heavy equipment services.

• BA certifications (CBAP, IIBA) - useful but not required if your track record speaks for itself

• Comfortable being the sole BA - owning the requirements function end-to-end.

• Comfortable using AI tooling to accelerate documentation-heavy work - drafting, summarising, first-pass test cases, ambiguity checks - without leaning on it to do the thinking.

What we offer

• $145,000–$165,000 base + superannuation.
