Who We Are

Comverge Networks is an experienced systems integrator. We design, construct and manage advanced networks which deliver telecommunications, entertainment and security requirements to our clients across many industries. We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our enthusiastic team on a fulltime basis based in Boronia, Melbourne. 

The Role

The Network Engineer will work closely with the ICT Manager to oversee and administer our networks and systems that support the Comverge team and our customers. Key responsibilities include:

• Take ownership of our networks, ensuring compliance with best practices, customer expectations and our agreed service level agreements.

• Negotiate, collaborate, and engage with suppliers, service providers, system integrators, and both business and technical teams to deliver high-quality services and solutions.

• Implementation and support of Comverge’s IT infrastructure and systems.

• Design and documentation of customer networks.

• Testing, installation and commissioning of customer networks.

• On-going maintenance, troubleshooting and fault rectification for customer networks.

• Provision to be available outside of business hours when required. 

• Stay up to date with developments in IP based technology and make recommendations on suitable technology to be used in networks designed and built by Comverge.

Technical Required Skills and Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of Cisco Switches and Routers and Fortinet firewalls.

• Thorough understanding of switching protocols including VLANs, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP, LAG and other switching protocols used in enterprise networks.

• Experience configuring Firewalls, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points.

• In-depth experience with Voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting

• Understanding of and experience with routing protocols

• Understanding of and experience with HFC, DOCSIS and CMTS will be highly regarded

• Understanding of and experience with GPON systems will be highly regarded

• Be a quick learner with a willingness to further your career.

• Hold a current Victorian driver’s licence
