About the Role

Gov Recruit is seeking experienced Senior Cloud Engineers to join a Federal Government ICT team supporting critical cloud infrastructure and technology transformation initiatives.

This role sits within a high-performing Cloud and Infrastructure Operations team responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise cloud services across a complex ICT environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing, enhancing and securing the organisation's Microsoft Azure ecosystem while supporting cloud migration, automation and modernisation activities.

The position is based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements available. Applicants must hold an active Baseline Security Clearance prior to commencement and be eligible to obtain NV1.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for delivering and supporting cloud infrastructure services across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and associated technologies.

Working within a complex enterprise environment, you will contribute to the management, optimisation and security of cloud platforms while supporting strategic infrastructure projects and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

• Administering Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.

• Managing Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and identity services.

• Implementing and maintaining Azure Automation solutions.

• Supporting security, governance and compliance initiatives.

• Delivering cloud migration projects involving users, systems and data.

• Producing technical documentation and operational handover materials.

• Providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders and project teams.

• Supporting AWS infrastructure where required.

• Identifying and managing cloud-related risks and operational issues.

Required Skills & Experience (Essential)

• Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Engineer within enterprise environments.

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.

• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Office 365 platforms.

• Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).

• Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure management.

• Proven experience delivering cloud migration projects.

• Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance and governance principles.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Active Baseline Security Clearance.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

• Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.

• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.

• Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures.

• Experience working within Australian Government environments.

• Eligibility to obtain or hold NV1 Security Clearance.
