Altitude Recruitment is partnering with a leading consulting firm engaged by one of Australia's largest telecommunications companies to source experienced Cloud Platform Engineers for a strategic contract engagement. These roles are fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in Australia.

We are currently hiring at two levels: Senior Specialist and Principal. If you have deep platform engineering expertise and a passion for building scalable, developer-friendly cloud infrastructure, we'd love to talk.

About the Roles

As a Cloud Platform Engineer Senior Specialist, you will play a significant role in the build and operation of turnkey cloud platforms such as OpenShift and Cloud Foundry that enable the client to deliver products faster to market. You will bring deep expertise in container orchestration, SRE practices, and multicloud platform architecture.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer Principal, you will lead the platform engineering function end-to-end. Your deep technical expertise will be sought out by application developers to accelerate development by abstracting infrastructure complexity. You will define long-term platform roadmaps, lead developer enablement initiatives, and drive scalability and uptime improvements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement multicloud platform strategies across AWS, Azure and GCP
• Build and operate container-based platforms using OpenShift, Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry across PaaS, IaaS, CaaS and FaaS models
• Apply SRE principles to ensure high availability, resilience and performance
• Drive automation, DevOps pipelines and agile delivery practices
• Implement cloud security best practices across networking, storage and OS layers
• (Principal level) Define platform architecture, set long-term roadmaps and lead developer productivity initiatives

Cloud Platform Engineer Senior Specialist

• Proven cloud platform engineering experience
• Deep expertise in container orchestration — OpenShift, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry
• Strong knowledge of PaaS, IaaS, CaaS and FaaS models
• Proven SRE, DevOps and automation skills across multicloud environments

Cloud Platform Engineer Principal

• Extensive cloud/platform engineering experience
• Demonstrated leadership in defining platform architecture and multicloud strategy
• Expert-level knowledge of developer enablement, infrastructure abstraction and scalability
• Track record of leading large-scale platform initiatives and reducing operational overhead
