PMO Lead | Portfolio Transformation | 12 Month Contract
We are partnering with a large, complex infrastructure organisation undertaking a significant uplift of its technology project delivery capability.
 
As part of this transformation, we are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to establish and implement a modern Portfolio Management Office that provides governance, visibility, financial control, resource planning and portfolio level reporting across a large technology and digital delivery function.
 
This is a highly influential role where you will work closely with senior leaders across technology, architecture, finance, audit and project delivery to build and embed portfolio management practices that support both current and future initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Assess existing project delivery frameworks, governance processes, templates and reporting structures
• Identify capability gaps and develop a roadmap for PMO implementation and maturity uplift
• Establish portfolio governance processes and controls across the project lifecycle
• Implement portfolio level reporting, resource planning and scheduling capabilities
• Develop executive reporting frameworks and portfolio performance dashboards
• Partner with architecture teams to support portfolio planning, prioritisation and roadmap development
• Introduce structured financial governance and portfolio investment oversight
• Support the implementation and adoption of portfolio and project management tools
• Define clear roles, responsibilities and accountability across delivery, finance, audit and governance functions
• Drive adoption of new frameworks across both new and in flight projects

• Standardised monthly portfolio reporting

About You

• You are a seasoned PMO leader who has successfully established or transformed PMO functions within large and complex environments.

You will bring:

• Strong experience within technology, digital or enterprise transformation portfolios
• Experience implementing PMO, PPM or project management tooling
• Financial governance and portfolio investment management experience
• Strong understanding of governance, assurance, audit and risk management practices
• Experience working in highly regulated, asset intensive or governance focused environments
• Demonstrated success uplifting governance and delivery practices across active project portfolios
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior executives and delivery teams alike
